Content Features

L-Taurine

-Cardiomyopathy occurs when cats and dogs are fed a taurine-deficient diet.

- Taurine plays a role in mitochondrial and myocardial functions. Taurine is required for normal systolic and diastolic function of the heart, and cats with taurine deficiency develop systolic dysfunction.

-Taurine deficiency causes damage to myofibrils.

-It provides electron flow through protein conjugations in mitochondria, thus, its deficiency causes MELAS (myopathy, encelopathy, lactic acidosis, ischemic myopathy) from mitochondrial diseases.

Coenzyme Q10

- Some therapies for heart failure can lower coenzyme Q10 levels, and coenzyme q10 supplementation may reduce free radicals(highly reactive molecules or groups containing one or more single electrons) in these patients and improves exercise capacity and heart function.

-In addition, coenzyme q10 reduces the risk of heart attack by dilating the vessels.

-It reduces the risk of heart attack patients having a second heart attack by 50%.

L-Carnitine

-Provides protection against cardiac hypertrophy by controlling oxidative metabolism, glycolysis and ATP production, which changes within the damaged myocardium.

Vitamin E

-Vitamin E, one of the fat-soluble vitamins; It is a nutrient that has important functions in many areas such as skin health, eye health and hormonal regulation. Vitamin E, which is also one of the vitamins with antioxidant properties, is also very effective in strengthening the immune system.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.)

The main components of rosemary include carnosic acid, carnosol and 4',7-dimethoxy-5-hydroxy-flavone. Extracts from rosemary are used as a natural antioxidant and extend the shelf life of perishable foods. In fact, the EU has approved rosemary extract (E392) as a safe and effective natural antioxidant for food preservation. Rosemary contains large amounts of phenolic acids such as rosmarinic acid, which has antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Phytochemicals mainly found in R. officinalis are rosmarinic acid, camphor, caffeic acid, ursolic acid, betulinic acid, carnosic acid and carnosol. Therefore, R. officinalis consists mainly of phenolic compounds, di- and triterpenes, and essential oils.

In traditional medicine, the leaves of R. officinalis L. are used for their antibacterial activity, antimucolytic, diuretic antispasmodic and analgesic in muscles and joints.
